In Orlando, the theme park capital of the world, the action-packed, on-the-go mentality and thousands of steps logged while enjoying the exhilarating attractions can be tiring. With so much to see and do, rest time and actual quality sleep is often not made a priority. Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort intends to help travellers with its new signature Sleep Ritual Massage offered at The Spa. The treatment aims to induce a complete state of relaxation and sleep readiness, and is accompanied by a home care kit to assist with achieving the ideal sleep at home, night after night.
The Sleep Ritual Massage was developed in partnership with Robert Michael deStefano, sleep wellness expert and co-founder of wellness company Longeva. The custom treatment incorporates breathing techniques that focus on seven specific somatic zones, plus a combination of sleep-inducing botanical scents and touch therapies that are designed to be ultra-relaxing, eliminating stress and tension and creating the perfect state of sleep readiness. The 80-minute massage treatment, USD 360, is ideal to reserve at The Spa in the evening, after a light dinner.
“The Sleep Ritual Massage is equal parts sleep wellness education and motivation, stress detox and luxury escape,” says deStefano. “Combined with the take-home DreamKit, the treatment is a potential game-changer for parents, grandparents and anyone else who is not satisfied with their sleep.”
Guided by dreamy relaxation music and sleep-inducing aromas, the Sleep Ritual Massage is a multifaceted treatment that will take the guest through an incredibly relaxing journey that will sooth, stretch and expand the entire body, mind and spirit, creating a state of total sleep readiness.
The DreamKit includes the market-first SleepCeuticals products used in the Ritual Massage. Along with its all-natural skin nourishers and moisturisers, SleepCeuticals features a custom, blend of 15 sleep-inducing, non-synthetic botanical extracts and essential oils. The SleepCeuticals found in the DreamKit include Sanctify Dream Cream, Anoint Sleep Serum and the Dream Mist spray. Added into the kit is The Sleep Ritual Music, a downloadable sixty-minute recording of clinically studied sleep-inducing music (also used in the massage) and a simple, step-by-step guidebook written by deStefano.
Derek Hofmann, Senior Director of Spa at Four Seasons Resort Orlando, hopes that this new treatment will help guests better understand the importance of creating an environment for quality sleep.
“We know that jet lag and insomnia can sometimes have an effect on some travellers, and combined with Orlando’s action-packed environment, sleep is often put on the backburner,” notes Hofmann. “I had this treatment a year ago and was blown away. I can’t wait for people to experience this revolutionary treatment at The Spa.”
The Spa at Four Seasons Resort Orlando is a true haven, featuring 18 treatment rooms including four couples’ suites and two couples’ spa bungalows, plus a full-service hair and nail salon. The Spa offers two co-ed relaxation lounges, plus a post-treatment Solarium room, and women’s and men’s locker rooms complete with whirlpool, steam room and Experience Shower. Ensconced within the luxurious Golden Oak neighbourhood, surrounded by lakes and lush landscaping, spa-goers will find they’ve discovered a true sanctuary.
Kobido, An Ancestral Japanese Facial Massage
Kobido in Japanese, translates as “the ancient way of beauty.” This ancestral massage technique focuses on the muscles of the face, restoring radiance and tonicity.
The art of kobido dates back to 1472. At the time in Asia, only one form of massage existed, named anma. The Empress was looking for a whole new way to preserve her beauty and the two great masters of anma rivalled each other to obtain the honour of satisfying her wish.
Beyond this fierce competition, the two masters developed deep mutual respect and admiration for each other and decided to unite their talents to found kobido, exclusively reserved for centuries for empresses and members of the nobility. They created no fewer than 48 techniques, passed on from master to disciple throughout the generations.
Le Spa at Four Seasons Hotel George V revives this Japanese tradition at the very heart of Paris with Dr Shogo Mochizuki, master of the 26th generation and lineage of kobido, who came in person all the way from Tokyo to Paris to share his expertise and savoir-faire of this ancient art with our Spa team.

Experience an Island Connection that Soothes the Soul
The Spa at Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita has introduced a new Tropical Senses massage, where every element takes inspiration from the island’s character and culture.
Set to the rhythmic music of local Sega songs, this invigorating 45-minute treatment uses the natural energy of Mauritius to restore a sense of overall wellbeing. During the full body massage, soothing organic coconut oil is energetically massaged into the skin to help detoxify the body, while placements of gentle pressure to the head help to release tension.
Following the massage with one of the Spa’s expert local therapists, guests are offered a Mauritian Creole phrasebook to allow them to continue their connection with the island throughout their stay.
Commenting on the new treatment, Regional Spa Director Constance Chapalain says: “So much of what people remember from visiting Mauritius are the warmth of the people, the tropical flavours and climate, and the passion for music and dance. Our local therapists were keen to find a way to encapsulate this boundless, positive energy of Mauritius into a truly special treatment and I hope that many of our guests will not only enjoy the new Tropical Senses massage, but that they will also remember if for a long time to come.”
Set on wooden pillars above the Indian Ocean lagoon and lush mangroves, the Spa at Four Seasons Resort Mauritius takes inspiration from local traditions, blending the island’s rich cultures with modern techniques to create a global, holistic wellbeing experience for all guests.
