Hyatt Regency Zhenjiang Opens in East China

Hyatt Hotels announced today the opening of Hyatt Regency Zhenjiang in East China’s Jiangsu province. Set atop the East Tower of Suning Plaza, the highest skyscraper in Zhenjiang, the 318-room Hyatt Regency hotel is set to provide travelers and locals alike with a fresh perspective of the city by providing an energizing place to connect with the very best of Zhenjiang.

Located at the heart of the Da Shi Kou central business district, Hyatt Regency Zhenjiang is conveniently accessible to shopping, entertainment venues and famous tourism sites, including Xijindu Ancient Street, Beigushan Park, Zhenjiang China Vinegar Culture Museum and Nanshan Scenic Area. The hotel is just 12 minutes from Zhenjiang Railway Station, 90 minutes from Nanjing Lukou International Airport and a 30-minute drive to the neighboring city of Yangzhou via Runyang Bridge.

Zhenjiang, sitting at the intersection of the Yangtze River and the Grand Canal, is a wellspring of history, culture and cuisine. While the monumental Yangtze River and statuesque Beigu Mountain represent the traditional side of Zhenjiang, the city is set for a vibrant future with its contemporary offerings and fast-growing developments.

Starting at the artistic lobby on the 57th floor, the hotel features two sky-high restaurants and lounges, dynamic event spaces, comprehensive wellbeing facilities, and a rooftop helipad.

Guestrooms and Suites

Hyatt Regency Zhenjiang features 318 guestrooms, including 20 spacious suites, providing welcoming accommodation high above the city from the 59th to 76th floors. Stepping into each guestroom, guests are greeted with panoramic vistas of the Yangtze River or Nanshan Scenic Area through floor-to-ceiling windows. Guests can relax in style while enjoying the amazing sunsets over the Yangtze River and savvy in-room comforts, such as free Wi-Fi, a 65” SMART TV, spacious working area, and a Nespresso coffee machine in suites.

Dining and Drinking

World-class dining experiences await at two top-of-the-city restaurants. On the 58th floor, Xiang Yue, the hotel’s signature Chinese restaurant, serves authentic Hangzhou and Jiangsu cuisines in its ruby-hued parlor and seven private dining rooms. At Market Café on the 57th floor, seasonal dishes from East and West are freshly prepared at live chef kitchens during the breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets.  On the same level, The Lounge serves as a great spot for a relaxed afternoon tea or cocktails with spectacular views of Zhenjiang from the highest viewing deck in the city. The pillar-free 9,472-square-foot (880-square-meter) Regency Ballroom on the fifth floor can accommodate up to 900 guests for a cocktail event or 450 guests for a banquet. Seven multifunctional meeting rooms on the fifth and sixth floors, with stylish breakout spaces and advanced technology, are supported by a team of creative and professional planners to ensure seamless and personalized events.

Bridal couples can celebrate their dream day with the Yangtze River, mountains and cityscape as a dazzling backdrop. A spacious bridal suite beside the ballroom includes a dressing room, make-up area and relaxation lounge ensuring an indulgent bridal experience. Experienced wedding planners are on hand to expertly manage all preparations and details, from romantic decorations to custom menus prepared by the hotel’s renowned culinary team.

Wellbeing and Recreation

Guests can relax and unwind with a refreshing dip in the 25 meter temperature-controlled indoor swimming pool or work out at their convenience at the 24-hour gym on the seventh floor, equipped with the latest fitness equipment and a yoga studio, both accompanied by scenic river views. The pool oasis, with natural light filtering through glass skylights and a garden courtyard, also features a whirlpool and lounge area, as well as male and female changing areas with a sauna and steam rooms.

Grand Hyatt Athens Opens in Greek Capital

Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced the opening of Grand Hyatt Athens, marking the first Hyatt hotel in the Greek capital and the first Grand Hyatt branded hotel in Greece. The luxury property is located on Syngrou Avenue next to the Onassis Cultural Centre and combines dramatic architecture with innovative design, easily accessible to historic sites and best-in-class restaurants.

The vibrant city of Athens offers countless activities for all types of visitors. At the same time, it is also known as the historic capital of Europe – an ancient city with rich culture, iconic sites and attractions.

Celebrating iconic Greek culture, the 309-room hotel incorporates curated art reminiscent of ancient Athens. Alongside original pieces from the Museum of Cycladic Art, the hotel also showcases a glamorous lobby with an extraordinary art installation called The Coin, which is made from replicated, ancient Athenian coins representing the Greek economic supremacy in the fifth century BC. The property’s rooftop also offers the spectacular Penthouse Restaurant and an outdoor swimming pool with impressive views of the Acropolis.

Grand Hyatt is situated within walking distance of the beautiful old town of Plaka and the infamous Acropolis site, while golf courses, the passenger port terminal of Piraeus and the golden beaches of the Athens southern suburbs are just a short car ride away.

The hotel will be managed by Kokari Limited and has been developed by the international real estate investment companies Henderson Park and Hines. It will be the second Hyatt property in Greece, joining Hyatt Regency Thessaloniki.

Additionally, suite and club room guests have exclusive access to the Grand Club Lounge, which provides lavish surroundings, personal concierge services and culinary highlights throughout the day.

The impressive rooftop restaurant is set on the hotel’s top floor overlooking the brightly lit Acropolis neighborhood of Athens through transparent glass surfaces and offers guests the extraordinary experience of fresh, seasonally-inspired Mediterranean cuisine. Mandarin Oriental To Manage Luxury Resort On Lake Como, Italy

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced today that it has taken over management of CastaDiva Resort & Spa, an existing resort on Lake Como, Italy. The property will be rebranded as Mandarin Oriental, Lake Como in spring 2019 following a refurbishment of facilities. This will be Mandarin Oriental’s first resort in western Europe and will complement the Group’s Milan hotel.

Located on the shores of Lake Como, and surrounded by lush botanic parkland, the resort is a landmark of historic importance, comprising 76 spacious rooms and suites housed in nine villas, dating from the 19th Century. Two of the villas will be bookable in their entirety giving guests their own private retreat. Almost all accommodation has lake views that can be enjoyed from either a balcony or terrace. The resort features four restaurants and bars, including a lakeside terrace for al fresco dining, a large spa with an indoor swimming pool and an outdoor floating pool on the lake. There is also a variety of social and meeting facilities in the resort’s grounds.

“We are delighted to be extending the Mandarin Oriental brand to the shores of Lake Como which has long been a destination of choice for luxury travellers. Lake Como has been a popular travel destination for centuries, and is regarded as one of the most beautiful resort areas in northern Italy. The lake is surrounded by villas, gardens and villages and offers visitors a wealth of scenic views, hiking trails, boating and other water activities. It is easily accessed from Milan Malpensa airport.

CastaDiva Resort & Spa was acquired in 2017 by funds managed by Attestor Capital LLP.
