In the lead up to the summer months, Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado has developed a series of summer experiences for guests to enjoy while staying at the Resort.
Artist in Residence Program
The ongoing Artist in Residence program supports local artists and artisans, showcasing works created onsite, available for purchase, while also engaging guests with a series of workshops, live demonstrations and lectures. As part of the program, the Resort has partnered with the International Folk Art Market to host their VIP Key Speaker Fred de Sam Lazaro and two of their artists from Cambodia and Mali.
Chantha Nguon – Chantha Nguon from Cambodia started her social enterprise organisation Stung Tren Women’s Development Centre in 2002 in collaboration with Partner in Progress in a small house with two traditional wooden weaving looms and a big dream. The project focuses on teaching and mentoring local women in the art of ikat silk weaving while developing life skills that assist in breaking the cycle of poverty and illiteracy. The Mekong Blue silk products that she and her organisation produce are now regarded as some of the finest silk products in Cambodia. Nguon is recognised as a UNESCO Award of Excellence Winner. Nguon will be staying at the Resort July 6-8, 2018 and will be hosting a special workshop and demonstration for guests to learn about the craft of silk weaving on Saturday July 7, 2018.
Mohamed El Maouloud Ag Hamid – Mohamed El Maouloud Ag Hamid is founder of the northern Mali artist collective Timidwa, which was founded with the mission of bringing people together, united in common creative goals. He is part of a 150-strong group of artisans from different ethnicities and professions and specialises in the art of traditional north west African silversmithing. Creating intricate and richly detailed jewelry in the traditional Tuareg style, El Maouloud Ag Hamid has created a network of artisans that has maintained and progressed the traditions of his people, while developing a network of artisans that support each other socially and creatively. El Maouloud Ag Hamid will be staying at the Resort July 20-22, 2018, and will be showcasing his craft in a workshop on Saturday July 21, 2018.
Now open for the season, Rancho Encantado’s pool offers guests a new collection of poolside amenities as well as a refreshed poolside menu. Guests can lounge by the pool while attentive pool staff offer services such as sunglass cleaning and Aquafina misting while serving smoothie shots, and tasting bites. The new poolside menu combines tempting cocktails, best enjoyed in the heat of the summer sun, with Asian-inspired light bites including fresh Thai salads, mahi mahi lettuce wraps and freshly made poke bowls.

Opera Lovers’ Package
Celebrating its 60th anniversary, the Santa Fe Opera has long been a focal point for the arts in Santa Fe, providing an arena to showcase some of the countries most talented musicians, directors and opera singers. Royal Estates Royal Court Affairs in Oman carried out the design of most of the refurbishment works, while renowned luxury integrated design firm WATG and affiliated design studio Wimberly Interiors provided some of the other architecture and interior renovation under the supervision of the Royal Estates. Undergoing a dramatic transformation, the Palace’s hotel rooms and suites seamlessly combine decor inspired by Oman’s culture and heritage with refined design and state-of-the-art technology. While the rooms retain their original elegance, an enhanced level of modern luxury is now provided by rich furnishings, lush materials and neutral metallic tones. New artwork pays homage to Oman’s artisans with contemporary digital prints incorporating images of traditional Omani silverware, jewelry, khanjars, and coffee pots.
