Four Seasons service is now offered on water: experience Lake Balaton, the largest lake in Central Europe, aboard the new Four Seasons sailing boat.

Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest invites guests to discover a little known, but great Hungarian tradition: sailing. A highlight of the summer season comes July 26 to 28, 2018, when the country is hosting Kékszalag, the “Blue Ribbon” competition on Lake Balaton, which is the oldest round-the-lake competition of Europe, as the first race was sailed in 1934.

“Our guests adore boating on the Danube River where you see the city from a whole new angle and take breath-taking photos throughout the ride – we always recommend Dunarama, the luxurious motor boat. This summer, in cooperation with Royal Limousine, our limousine partner, we finally launch our own boating experience with a brand-new Bavaria 33 Sailing Boat, but at the gorgeous Lake Balaton – considered as the ‘inner sea’ of the country – that is about 90 minutes away from Budapest. It is the perfect weekend getaway if you are looking for an off-the-beaten-path, local experience,” comments Peter Buday, Chef Concierge.

Guests may choose between a private rental along with a limousine ride to and from Budapest and a picnic package is provided by the Hotel’s kitchen with selected fruits, water and sparkling wine by Kreinbacher throughout the day; or an hourly boat rental only for those who are already enjoying the beauty of the lake.

“Whether it is the perfect, sunny summer day for a calm sailing with local wines or a sportier version of sailing on a fall afternoon, guests will marvel upon the beauty of the lake and its surrounding villages, like the Tihany Peninsula and its Abbey,” ays Gergely Meritza, the skipper of the boat, who is a Balaton-born, Balaton-based young Sailing National Champion.

The Concierge team at Four Seasons is also recommending an optional program: to experience a nice meal with the most gorgeous view of the lake at Márga Bisztró in Csopak.
